We will start the session with a critique of various adult learning theories while exploring the tensions that may exist between adult education and training. Join us and discover the synergies between the two disciplines as we make an examination of adapting adult learning theories to enhance the training process.
About Our Presenter:
Dr. Tom Hancock is the Director of the online Master of Science in Education Programs at Saint Joseph’s College. He obtained his doctorate in career and workforce education from Nova Southeastern University. Tom held the position as the Coordinator for Education for Seeds of Peace and then as the Director of the Afghanistan/ India/Pakistan program (www.seedsofpeace.org) prior to his association at Saint Joseph’s College. Previously he was the head teacher and supervisor for The Learning Center, a dropout recovery high school for adults in the Lake Region School District here in Maine. The first 17 years of Tom’s working career was at Hancock Lumber. He held various management positions at Hancock Lumber in both retail and manufacturing.
