PROGRAM

The term working memory was first used more than 50 years ago to describe the role of recall in planning and carrying out behavior. Often referred to as the “brain’s workhorse,” working memory is involved in a variety of learning and daily living tasks, such as reading, problem solving, and navigation.

Brain research on working memory has taught us much in how the brain learns and what tools, techniques and strategies enhance learning and increase memory retention. As a result of this interactive presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Define spaced retrieval, interleaving, elaboration, reflection and generation and their importance in enhancing memory and retention.
  • Identify ‘workouts’ (strategies and tools) to use in training sessions to activate and exercise working memory.
  • Apply brain research on memory to enhance learning and training effectiveness.

Join Lynne for this engaging session and find out how discoveries in neuroscience provide insights on how people learn -- and how to engage working memory in the training room.
