PROGRAM
“If this takes hold, there will be no more teachers!”
That is pretty close to what was claimed when just one, now familiar, disruptive technology was introduced to the world. And that technology was film!
In the training world, we face disruptive forces every day from a changing workforce to technologies, such as mobile, social and video. This impacts both how training is designed and how learners learn. In this session, Carol Cohen, Manager of Sales Training and Enablement at Plex Systems, will gamestorm ideas and examples of how to successfully embrace these disruptive forces to create, manage and deliver more impactful training.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:
- Describe ways to incorporate new technologies into their training delivery
- Incorporate collaborative and participant-centered activities into training events
- Improve retention by incorporating mobile access to fingertip knowledge and resources
OUR PRESENTER
Carol Cohen comes from a long line of teachers – fourth generation as a matter of fact, and now her daughter Ariel is carrying on the tradition as a high school music teacher. She says – training is in my DNA! Naturally, right out of college, she taught high school English. Until quite recently, Carol was the enterprise solution sales training manager at Hewlett-Packard (HP) also designing and developing the partner reseller sales certification program.
During her tenure at HP she was recognized by Brandon Hall and the ASTD (now ATD!) for her innovation in instructional design with 9 awards including 2 silver medals. She was recently recognized by Training Industry Magazine with the Editor’s Choice Award for her article on Social Learning, one of the top 5 most-read articles of 2013, and she is often tapped to present industry webinars on subjects, such as mobile learning and gamification.
Registration is required by the end of day Wednesday prior to the event.
Weather Policy: In the event of bad weather, if the Falmouth schools are closed, the event will be cancelled.
